THE LEGACY FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS

The conference will host participants from several Latin American countries. It will be an opportunity for interaction, dialogue and shared learning between NGOs, companies and universities, as a source of inspiration to reach creative solutions to complex problems.

José Paulo Carelli (ISE Business School, Brasil)

Confirmed Speakers

President of the Catholic International University.

She has represented countries in international organizations and has served as a presidential appointee confirmed by the Congress of the United States, advising both the President and the Secretary of State during two presidential terms.

Since leaving government, she has worked to develop and implement Integral Economic Development (DEI), an interdisciplinary approach to economic analysis that recognizes the role of social relationships – primarily manifested within families – as key drivers of economic activity.

José Paulo Carelli holds a master’s degree in Economics from EPGE/FGV-RJ, an MBA from IESE, and a doctorate in government and organizational culture from the University of Navarra.

He is a Professor of General Management, Financial Management, Business Ethics, and Anthropology.

He currently serves as the CEO of ISE Business School.

Founder of Instituto Ekloos, she holds a postgraduate degree in Strategic Management of Businesses from FGV and a PMD from ISE Business School.

A former corporate market executive, having worked at HP and Microsoft, with over 15 years of experience in the social sector, she mentors NGOs and Social Enterprises in strategy, marketing, and management, supporting them in the sustainable development of their initiatives and increasing their social impact. Andréa is also a co-founder of two social impact enterprises: Agência Kio and Bliks.

He has a PhD in Business Studies (London Business School) and two master’s degrees (University of Navarra and IAE). He is a professor of Corporate Politics and the director of the Chair for Sustainable Integral Development at IAE Business School, where he leads international projects on sustainable development.

He collaborates with leaders like Jeffrey Sachs and Raj Sisodia, and with institutions such as IESE Business School and London Business School.

Héctor, married to Inés and father of ten children, draws inspiration from his marital vocation for his work and collaborative projects like Family Well-being.

 

He holds a degree in History (UBA) and a PhD in Philosophy (Pontifical University of the Holy Cross).

Ordained as a priest in 1991, he worked in Ecuador as a professor and columnist for the newspaper El Telégrafo. He served as the dean of the Faculty of Institutional Communication (1996-2002) and as rector (2002-2008) of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross. In 2007, he participated in the V General Conference of the Episcopate of Latin America and the Caribbean. He has been a vicar of Opus Dei in various countries and has been an auxiliary vicar of Opus Dei since 2019.

He is the author of more than 20 books on modern society and secularization.

 

She is a doctor and professor at the Institute of International Relations at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Trinidad and Tobago.

She holds a degree in Law and is a member of several editorial boards and international academic associations. She was an economic policy analyst and the first corporate secretary of the Heritage and Stabilization Fund of Trinidad and Tobago.

Currently, she is an advisor and head of the Governance and Peace Division at the Commonwealth, supporting peacebuilding and the promotion of democracy.

Her most recent book is Global Environmental Governance and Small States: Architectures and Agency in the Caribbean.

Doctor in Law from the University of Navarra. Served as rector of the University of Piura from 2003 to 2012, previously holding positions as dean of the Faculty of Law and director of the Liberal Arts Program. Participated in establishing the Faculty of Law, where he is also a faculty member, and represented Peru for the Institute for University Cooperation (ICU). Since August 2018, has resumed the role of rector at the University of Piura.

Participated in the PMD (Program for Management Development) at IESE Business School, where he serves as a lecturer. Director of Corporate Citizenship and ESG Communication at Lenovo for Latin America. Began her career in engineering and technology at Promon, later moving into social investment and corporate responsibility at IDIS, Instituto Ibi, Porticus, Peninsula Institute, and Cargill Foundation. Currently leads the Lenovo Foundation for Latin America, promoting access to technology and STEM education, and oversees ESG communications while serving on the board of the José Luis Egídio Setúbal Foundation. Social Entrepreneurship: Purpose and Sustainability

Founder and Executive Director of Instituto Phi, Luiza is a Responsible Leader for the BMW Foundation and a fellow of the Skoll Foundation. She is also a member of the Strategic Advisory Council for Latimpacto and NEXUS Global, as well as EO. In 2020, she was recognized as a social entrepreneur by Folha de São Paulo. With 16 years of experience in the social sector, the last 9 have been dedicated to guiding families and businesses in strategic philanthropy. An advertising professional by training, Luiza has worked in communication and marketing for various companies.

General Director of Social Projection and Co-Creation. Responsible for managing external relations at the university to develop partnerships with government entities, businesses, and the social sector, aimed at enhancing university extension processes, including social impact projects, knowledge transfer, consulting, open innovation, and alumni relations. An architect with an MBA from Inalde Business School and a Master's in Total Quality Management (TQM) from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, currently pursuing doctoral studies in Organizational Management at the University of La Sabana.

Robson Melo

Social Entrepreneurship: Purpose and Sustainability

Passionate about education and co-founder of Estante Mágica, Robson Melo has helped over 2.5 million children become authors of their own books. Raised in the Favela da Rocinha, he founded the company in 2009 to promote reading and writing, empowering children to be the protagonists of their own stories. A speaker at TEDxRio Educação, he is also part of the Lemann Foundation's network of leaders. In 2023, he received the Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award from Folha de São Paulo and the Schwab Foundation. With over 20 years of experience, he holds a master’s and a law degree from the State University of Rio de Janeiro.

Carlos Sánchez Fuentes

Industrial engineer with a Master's in Business Management from UNIS Business School in Guatemala, boasting 15 years of experience in the education and social sectors. Part of ADICE, a civil association in Guatemala that promotes the integral development of vulnerable youth. Since 2021, he has directed the KINAL Foundation, which provides technical training to 1,800 underprivileged youths with partial scholarships and certifies over 1,200 workers in technical courses. KINAL collaborates with international companies and brands to update its content and equipment, facilitating job placement. All KINAL programs emphasize human development and values, reflecting its motto: “Well-Done Work.”

Cloves Carvalho

CEO of Instituto Votorantim since 2013, managing the social investment of the Votorantim Group in over 150 Brazilian municipalities annually. Part of the Group since 2008, previously serving as General Director of M&M, Director of HR and Management, and Industrial Director at CBA. Prior to that, worked for 22 years at Alcan do Brasil, where he was Director of Operations for Primary Aluminum. Additionally, he is a member of the Board of the Gorceix Foundation and an Associate Advisor at the NGO Todos Pela Educação. Since 2014, he has been a strategic partner of the National Governance Committee of Comunitas in the Juntos por el Desenvolvimento Sustentável program. Jorge Pablo Regent Vitale

Jorge Pablo Regent Vitale, born in Montevideo in 1963, holds a degree in Public Accounting from UDELAR, an MBA from IAE, and a Doctorate in Management from IESE. He was the founder and Dean of IEEM (now the University of Montevideo) and established Algorta & Regent Consultants. With experience in strategic consulting across various sectors, he has served on several boards of directors. Currently, he is the president of the Luis Manuel Calleja Foundation and a director at multiple companies. He has published numerous articles and books and has taught at business schools in Latin America and Spain.
